People from all types of backgrounds have found a church home with us. Our roots grow out of the Christian Brethren movement which began with Christians who longed for the community life they saw in the churches of the Bible. They sought to model themselves after the pattern in Acts 2:42…
"They spent their time learning from the apostles, and they were like family to each other. They also broke bread and prayed together." (Acts 2:42 CEV)
Our local church began as a small collection of families in our community meeting in their homes. Over time the congregation grew and eventually built our current facility as a central meeting place. In response to community needs, a day care center and eventually an ESL program were developed and are still part of our ministry.
Today we are becoming a community church that seeks to be faithful to the mission of bringing the good news about Jesus to our community and beyond. We belong to the Vision Ministries network (A diverse network of 130+ churches across Canada www.vision-ministries.org). We encourage each other to be continually learning and growing in our relationship with God, other Christians, and the people who we interact with each day. And we’re committed to the simplicity and warmth of true Christian community centered on the person and work of Jesus Christ as taught in the Bible.
